Day 22 — Sick Day — 40 Days of Writing, Spring Session

A flu bug has been going around and I have been lucky — until yesterday. Since I hardly ever get sick (aside from an occasional hangover) this comes as a bit of a gut-punch. I powered through my afternoon shift yesterday, but am down for the count the rest of the weekend. It pisses me off, as I had a fun day planned tomorrow, Sunday, where a group of friends and I were going to walk to the Hillcrest Farmer’s Market, then maybe have a couple beers and some lunch on the way back.

It feels like a tennis ball is caught in my throat. Hot tea , meds and a bowl of won ton chicken soup are helping some, but I still feel run down, with a somewhat smaller tennis ball caught in my throat.

While channel-surfing I came upon “Ordinary People,” a depressing movie that I have always loved. What is it about certain depressing movies that totally suck me in?

Anyway, keeping things short today. I hope everyone from the “40 Days” writing community has a nice — and healthy — weekend.
